Join a team where you can contribute.

Beech Grove School is a Christian independent boarding school set in a beautiful part of east Kent.  We are always looking for great teachers to come and join our team and help the school develop.  It would be the ideal placement for teachers wanting to teach small classes in a school that cares as much about co-curricular activities as it does about high academic achievement.

Current vacancies:

Teacher of Science and Mathematics

Salary Range - £40,000 to £60,000 depending on qualifications and experience

Contract: Full time / Permanent

Deadline for applications: May 2025

Start date: September 2025

The Role

This is a rare opportunity for a science and mathematics teacher to join our Christian independent boarding school starting September 2025. The school excels in academic and co-curricular subjects and provides excellent pastoral care to the students. The school is rated as “Good” by Ofsted, with “Outstanding” boarding provision.

We are looking for someone who is a skilled and effective science teacher who can also teach mathematics, particularly higher-level courses. This person should be a genuine team player, able to contribute to the development of the school’s full programme of learning. Ideally you will have previously held a leadership role in an independent school.

Each class has around 10 students who are eager to learn and have exceptionally good behaviour. Teaching staff benefit from the opportunity to focus on the preparation and teaching of their subject, with other staff focussing on administration.

Alongside our clear focus on excellence in academic subjects, we pride ourselves on a broad range of co-curricular activities from music, art and drama to sport and robotics – an impressive array of awards demonstrates our high levels of achievement in these areas. The ideal applicant will contribute to the co-curricular programme alongside competent delivery of the academic curriculum.  Applicants with specific interests or areas of knowledge that could be developed into co-curricular activities should mention them when they apply.

The school has a strong Christian ethos and is set in a Christian community called Beech Grove Bruderhof. The majority of students live within the community. School instruction is complemented by supportive parents who take an active role in their children’s education.  The school serves students aged 14-18, is non-selective and caters to a wide range of academic abilities.

You must be committed to providing quality education and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that all students receive the best possible experience during their time here.
